Position Summary

The Department of Theatre at Villanova University is accepting applications for a tenure track position with the rank of Assistant Professor. Position begins August 22, 2018. The responsibilities include teaching courses at the Masters and undergraduate levels, and directing within the Villanova Theatre mainstage season. The Theatre Department seeks an artist/scholar with substantial directing credits, including both professional and university productions. Areas of specialization we are interested in include, but are not limited to: new works development, devising, classical work, and physical theatre. Successful candidates for tenure and promotion must maintain an active engagement with professional theatre work and/or a research agenda leading to publication.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching and related duties will vary with the specific course(s) being taught.

Minimum Qualifications

Terminal degree (MFA in Directing preferred), professional theatrical experience, and a minimum of three years of university level teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous graduate student engagement is preferred.
