Visiting Lecturer in Technical Theatre – English
University of Massachusetts Lowell

The Theatre Arts Program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell seeks a Full-Time, one-year in Technical Theatre, to begin Fall 2017. Successful candidate will teach and oversee production in a growing program, including running scene shop, overseeing theatre facilities, managing theatre space and production budgets, serving as TD for all productions (2 mainstage, 1 student), supervising students, and teaching introductory courses in design and technology, production practicum, and Introduction to Theatre. Opportunities to design are also available.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • MFA in technical direction (MFA in scenic, lighting, or sound design considered, provided there is demonstrated experience in technical direction)
  • Experience in scenic construction, plus one or more of the following: lighting, sound, rigging
  • The ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends required

  • Excellent teaching, organization, and management skills
