DUTIES: Teach and recruit undergraduate and graduate flute students; maintain professional career as artist/teacher; serve on master, doctoral and school committees. Additional teaching responsibilities may include coaching chamber music, and teaching courses in candidate’s areas of interest and abilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: a national and international reputation as an artist/teacher; proven record of successful teaching, preferably in a university environment; ability to attract and recruit outstanding undergraduate and graduate students; a commitment to maintaining and expanding his/her artistic reputation and ability as a performer. DMA or equivalent professional experience required.

The University of Miami is a private, independent, comprehensive university with an enrollment of approximately 16,200 students from all fifty states and over 100 countries. The main campus is located in Coral Gables, a residential suburb of Miami. The Frost School of Music has an enrollment of approximately 750 majors in 31 programs leading toward BA, BS, BM, AD, MM, MS, SPED, DMA, and PhD degrees. These programs are served by approximately 85 full-time and 27 part-time faculty, plus 128 graduate teaching assistants.
