Qualified applicants Candidate must have a terminal degree (MFA in Dance or PhD in Dance, Performing Arts or a related field) by the start of the appointment; artistic practice with an emphasis on community engagement and/or social justice; at least 1-year of teaching in higher education that includes at least one of the following: African Diasporic or contemporary dance forms (ballet/jazz/modern, etc.) or teaching methods or composition. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching dance pedagogy and/or West African Dance and/or African Diasporic dance and/or diverse global dance forms. Preferred qualifications also include experience/practice in somatic modalities. The visiting faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the following: dance technique, composition, and teaching methods. Further opportunities may include teaching other courses related to areas of expertise.
