The Department of Music at the University of Dayton invites applications for a full-time, 9-month position in Music Therapy at the rank of Lecturer (renewable). The successful candidate will join a well-established undergraduate Music Therapy program, with a faculty of three full-time and several part-time music therapists, and a total enrollment of approximately 40 students. Music and Music Technology minors are also offered.

Possible teaching assignments for this position include individual and group practicum supervision (both on and off campus), music therapy methods, research, and graduate-level courses for a Master of Music Therapy degree program with a music psychotherapy emphasis that is currently under development.

The qualified applicant will have a Master’s degree in music therapy or a closely related field, national board certification (MT-BC) or international equivalent, at least five years of full-time or equivalent part-time clinical experience in music therapy, collegiate teaching experience, successful experience supervising music therapy students in clinical settings, ability to guide student research, professional competency on piano and guitar, with advanced competency on at least one of the two as established in the American Music Therapy Association Advanced Competencies.
