The Department of English and Cultural Studies at Bryant University invites applications for a Visiting Studio Artist term-appointment for the 2019-2020 academic year. This is a one-year appointment with the option for a second year.
Bryant University’s English and Cultural Studies department is multi-disciplinary, housing programs in Creative and Applied Arts, Literature, Philosophy, Anthropology, and Cultural Studies.
Teaching includes a range of Art studio courses, which may include Drawing, 2D design fundamentals, color theory, watercolor, acrylics, and/or other areas of professional interest. The faculty member will be expected to forge connections with the local arts community, bring artists and design professionals to campus to work with students, serve as an advisor to the Bryant Arts and Creativity Club, and work with the Bryant Literary Review on design and art.
Qualifications include a Master of Fine Arts Degree with experience teaching at the University level and a record of professional exhibition of work.
The teaching load for this position will be three (3) courses per semester.
Regular attendance at assigned job site and the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and constituents are essential functions of this position.
