Core Courses: Drawing I and Color.
The Department of Art and Music in the Gwen Ifill College of Media, Arts and Humanities at
Simmons University seeks an experienced studio art professor to teach two courses per term in a
variety of areas in 2-D. These include introductory courses in Drawing, Life Drawing or Color,
and may include upper level courses in Collage and Mixed Media or 200-level Drawing. This is a
non-tenure stream 4/7 contract position in Studio Art for academic year 2019-2020, one-year contract
with the possibility for renewal.
Teaching might include two sections of the same course, or two different courses. Other
responsibilities include office hours, installation of student work from classes in the student
show and contributions to the Hall Gallery of student work throughout the semester.

- MFA in studio art required
- Minimum 3 years teaching undergraduates
- Experience teaching non-art majors in liberal arts setting
