Assistant Professor of Theatre in Actor Movement
The Assistant Professor of Theatre in Actor Movement will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the MFA, BFA, and BA degree programs in FAU’s Theatre Department.
Responsibilities will include:
Movement coaching for departmental productions.
Mentoring and supervising of student actors, workers, and volunteers.
Student recruitment and academic advising.
Possible directing and performing in departmental productions.
Securing external and internal funding though grant writing and other developmental activities.
MFA in Theatre (preferably in either Acting or Directing) and three semesters of college level teaching experience required. MFA must be conferred by August 31, 2016.
Strong background in an actor movement specialization such as Alexander, Laban, Viewpoints etc. required.
Commitment to teaching, training, and working in a university environment; along with a demonstrated artistic ability at both professional and academic levels required.
Expertise in a secondary movement discipline such as stage combat, yoga, dance, style and period movement, or mask work preferred.
Graduate level teaching preferred.
