The University of Kentucky School of Architecture seeks candidates with expertise in current and forward-looking construction technology to teach a combination of design studios and lecture courses in our building science sequence. The full-time academic position comes with a rank based on experience. Teaching responsibilities include graduate and/or undergraduate studio instruction and a required lecture course, as well as a seminar or elective in a specific area of expertise. The appointment comes with an expectation of service to the school, university, and community, as well as start-up support to launch a research program that produces scholarly or creative output of national and international standing.

The successful applicant will possess fluency in contemporary digital tools, material and environmental innovation, and advanced construction methods, as well as a combination of teaching experience, work experience in a progressive architectural practice, and a track record of research in the form of built work, design research, or scholarship in the form of publications, exhibitions, and grants. We are highly interested in candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to architectural education for the future architect, to the pursuit of innovation and excellence in design, and to integrating design research and practice with their teaching. An advanced degree in architecture is required, and professional registration is encouraged.

As the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s sole NAAB accredited Architecture program, UK offers a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, as well as a two and three year Master of Architecture programs.
