The School of Music and Creative Media Production is recruiting a full-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Music Industry to join the school's academic team. In addition to showing evidence of excellence in teaching and research in music industry related areas, the successful candidate will support music enterprise in the School, and encourage and enable graduates to develop their ideas into viable economic, social, and/or cultural ventures A relevant post-graduate qualification and/or significant industry experience in a creative sector is essential, as is knowledge and understanding of creative entrepreneurship, and associated concepts including but not limited to creative economies, creative cities, cultural and creative production.
The School of Music and Creative Media Production was recently established to respond to New Zealand's growth and internationally recognised reputation for innovation and creativity in both music and media production. It is staffed by internationally acclaimed and award-winning practitioners and is equipped with brand new state of the art facilities, including one of the largest and most high-tech recording studio complexes in the region.
The School of Music and Creative Media Production delivers two undergraduate degree programmes, the Bachelor of Commercial Music and Bachelor of Creative Media Production. The Bachelor of Commercial Music offers majors in Music Practice, Music Technology and Music Industry. The Bachelor of Creative Media Production offers students pathways in Film and TV, Animation and VFX, Game Development, Creative Technologies and Producing and Directing.
Together with the School of Design and the School of Art, the School of Music and Creative Media Production is part of the College of Creative Arts at Massey University, Wellington. The School of Design offers majors in Industrial Design, Fashion Design, Spatial Design, Visual Communication Design and Textiles. The School of Art offers majors in Fine Art, Photography and Maori Visual Arts.
