The School of Music at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign seeks applicants for a one-year 80% time lecturer position in theory and musicianship (aural skills). Teaching will include courses in graduate theory review (both tonal and twentieth century) and musicianship (including the supervision of teaching assistants). The anticipated start date for this position is 16 August 2017.

Required qualifications:
Completed doctorate in composition or theory at the time of application.

Classroom teaching experience in theory and musicianship, with a preference for teaching at various levels, including graduate students.

Keyboard proficiency for the theory and musicianship classroom.

Desired qualifications:
Facility with movable-do and la-based minor solf├Ęge.
