The American University in Dubai (AUD) invites applications for the position of Dean of the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC) to begin effective Spring 2025.
As the chief academic and administrative officer of the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication, the Dean will lead the school in strategic planning and the implementation of both short and long-term initiatives aligned to MBRSC goals and the university’s mission. The MBRSC Dean collaborates with the Associate Dean on all academic and operational matters pertinent to the School. In addition, the Dean is responsible for forging links with the broader media community and other external partners to further the school’s mission, especially as it applies to nurturing research, creative work, and student learning within a context of relevance and leading-edge practice.
The successful candidate should have:
- A terminal degree in communications/ media or related discipline.
- Mastery of both English and Arabic.
- Proven track record and evidence of academic excellence.
- Proven track record in management/administration.
- Experience of significant variety and scope in managing media/communication organizations and/or business consulting and/or executive training, or other significant “real world” experience.
- Significant international and multicultural exposure.
- Thorough understanding of the social, cultural and educational environment, and of business conditions and practices in the UAE, the GCC, and/or the wider Middle East.
The compensation package for this position is competitive and is based on the expatriate model. Besides tax-exempt basic salary, it includes housing, annual two-way airfare, health / life insurance, professional memberships, conference attendance expenses, assistance with children's tuition, and other components.
