POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Seton Hill University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Art History. This appointment is for a generalist in Art History who will teach survey courses including History of Art, Twentieth Century Art, Renaissance Art, Contemporary Art, Global Art and American Art. This coursework supports a variety of Art majors in the BFA and BA programs, as well as cross-disciplinary, liberal arts majors. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence, scholarship, student advisement, and university and community service. We are especially interested in applicants with demonstrated experience in successful university-level teaching, who can contribute to the Department by bringing a perspective, way of thinking, and/or a unique set of experiences that expand the field. This position includes advising, mentoring, curriculum development and recruitment for the Art History major. PhD in Art History required by time of appointment. August 1, 2026 start date.
