The Pomona College Department of Theatre invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Lighting Design. This is a full-time, 1-year, non-tenure-track, term position. The individual holding the position is expected to teach 4 courses per academic year which, depending on areas of specialty, could include: Intro to Lighting Design, Intro to Design, Intro to Technical Theatre, Lighting Tech, or Projection Design courses as well as designing for one departmental show each academic year. A successful candidate will have experience in instructing students in new digital technologies and be abreast of current trends and practices within the field. An M.F.A. or equivalent experience is required. Teaching experience at the college level and a significant body of professional work outside of academe are greatly preferred.
