Full-time, nine month, tenure track position. The University of South Dakota seeks a dynamic professional to teach Symphony Orchestra, conducting, applied studio clarinet, and orchestration and arranging class. Excellence in teaching is expected – both in the classroom and in mentoring students outside the classroom. Creative scholarship appropriate to rank expected. Other duties may include the annual orchestra festival, serving on graduate committees, supervising independent study projects as appropriate to appointee’s qualifications, and additional assignments to meet departmental needs. All faculty members are expected to be active in recruitment and to be active in research/creative scholarship. Participation in Inclusive Excellence by undertaking outreach to diverse communities (multicultural student organizations, Native American community, GLBTIQ community, Latino community, veterans, women, etc.) on and off campus is encouraged.

Doctorate in music, conducting, performance, music education, music arts, or closely related degree required by date of hire.
