Requirements
Associate Professor:
A Doctorate (NQF Level 10) in Architecture with at least seven years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Excellent English communication skills (oral and writing). Specialised knowledge and pedagogical experience are required in any of the following cluster areas of Architecture: Design and Environment, History and Theory, Building Construction Materials and Technology, Urban Design and African Urbanism. Competence to teach at both under- and post-graduate levels in at least three of the following courses: Architectural Design, African Urbanisation in Global Perspective, Construction Materials and Technology, Environmental Technology, Building Structures, Building Law and Contract Administration, Digital Presentation Techniques and Research Methods for Architecture. Sound research profile including ten peer-reviewed journals/books/conference proceedings with evidence of good H-Index and successfully supervised at least three Master’s students. Registered/registrable with the Namibian Council for Architects and Quantity Surveyors or another similarly recognised relevant statutory professional body within Southern Africa. Experience in formulating strategies to establish partnerships with reputable academic institutions and industries will be an advantage.
