The University of Miami’s Department of Theatre Arts seeks applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin August 15th, 2019. This is a Movement/Acting position with a full time, nine-month appointment. The successful candidate will have substantial experience as an acting teacher as well as in teaching a range of movement-based techniques which may include, but are not limited to mask technique, period movement, stage combat, Alexander Technique, Viewpoints, Laban, Biomechanics, Margolis, The Expressive Actor, and Lecoq. Candidates given strongest consideration will have an established national reputation in the field or evidence of potential for national recognition. Teaching responsibilities include working with BFA and BA theatre majors as well as non-majors and providing support for departmental productions.
Qualifications: MFA degree in Theatre, three years of experience teaching at the college level, and significant professional experience.
