The Architecture Department at Cal Poly is one of the largest undergraduate professional degree programs nationally with over 700 B.Arch. students. Of these, over 90% of our 4th year architecture students study in urban, suburban, and rural centers domestically and abroad including Cal Poly’s LA Metro and San Francisco Urban Programs and other faculty-led international programs in Japan, Mexico, Rome, and Switzerland. The department has a strong culture of making that includes digital and analog skill sets celebrated through traditions such as an annual furniture design competition and the building of temporary structures for Design Village in Poly Canyon. The program also offers an M.S. in Architecture with opportunities for collaborative design and research centered on project-based learning.
