ASSISTANT PROFESSOR -- TENURE-TRACK: PERFORMANCE STUDIES
The Colorado College invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track, in Performance Studies, in the Department of Drama and Dance.
This position is central to Colorado College’s Cornerstone Arts Initiative which seeks to create an environment for rigorous arts teaching in an interdisciplinary curriculum.
Requirements: Ph.D. and collegiate teaching experience, with an emphasis on Interdisciplinary Arts teaching. In addition, candidates should have the ability to make theoretical and practical connections between the disciplines of Dance and Drama.
Candidates should have demonstrated proficiency in global and international approaches to the performing arts, previous and continuing scholarly research in Performance Studies and be prepared to assist in the creation of an evolving curriculum for Dance and Drama majors.
This is a unique position, combining academic theoretical teaching in Performance Studies with a practical approach to New Media and Performance.
The Drama/Dance department is looking for an energetic individual, who will aid in the College’s mission to bring collaborative arts into the foreground in our new Cornerstone Arts Building (
http://www.coloradocollege.edu/news_events/Cornerstone/), fostering collaborative opportunities among students and faculty, while developing an awareness of Performance Studies issues relevant to ongoing performances on campus.
In addition to teaching History of Performance, we hope to find someone with strong interests in Digital Media and the ability to teach Non-western, Feminist and/or Queer Performance courses.
Preference will be given to applicants interested in contributing to, and teaching in, Collaborative Arts and Interdisciplinary programs.
