Position Description:
These Faculty Positions will support the first Master of Fine Arts in Design Program in the Gulf Region.
The Design Studies track of the MFA Program offered in Qatar, features an interdisciplinary studio environment for Applied Design research and theoretical investigations.
The Faculty will be responsible for teaching research, studio and/or theory courses, that explore development of innovative project opportunities, link Graduate research to national, regional and international Design networks, link course content with ongoing projects in the VCU Center for Research in Design and Entrepreneurial Programs and support collaborations across Education City universities and Qatar Foundation Centers, to achieve the Qatar Foundation’s mission to "create a center of excellence in education, research that will help transform Qatar into a knowledge based society."
This MFA track is a two-year Program, accepting 6 students per year.
Major responsibilities also include all other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
The successful candidates will have Master's or terminal degrees in Design or related fields; established academic careers, distinguished by excellent records of peer-reviewed publications, exhibitions, design projects or comparable research accomplishments; and, demonstrated teaching in Graduate Education.
The top candidates will possess expertise in areas that will collaborate closely with other Faculty in the MFA in Design Studies Program.
