RANK: Career Track Professor of Practice

RESPONSIBLITIES:
Duties include collaborating on scheduling with other production staff, oversight of all student stage managers for six show main-stage season and a variety of studio/workshop productions in a professional theatre training program, recruitment of stage management BFA and BA students, stage managing one production per year, and integrating programmatic technological advances into stage management curriculum. Teaching responsibilities include up to two stage management courses each semester as well as mentoring student stage managers.

The faculty member will teach at the undergraduate level and contribute to mentoring students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds. Faculty in our department also participate in outreach and contribute to departmental, college, and university service. Our faculty also help to develop innovative approaches to enhancing student engagement, increasing diversity, and expanding collaborations with community and business partners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BFA in theatre accompanied with 7 or more years’ stage management experience on a national level.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience across a variety of mediums including theatre, opera, dance, corporate, and special events
  • 2 years of teaching experience
  • AEA stage management affiliation
