The Department of Theatre at the University of Minnesota Duluth invites applicants for a full-time, 9-month, term Assistant or Associate Professor (100%) in Lighting Design beginning Fall 2020. Responsibilities include: teaching undergraduate foundation courses in lighting design and sound; developing research/creative works in theatre lighting design and sound; advising and mentoring lighting and sound design and production students; overseeing personnel for all lighting and sound elements for departmental productions; providing departmental service and other requisite duties of a term position.

Essential qualifications include a Masters degree in lighting design or related field from a regionally accredited university with two years teaching experience (graduate school teaching experience accepted) and experience designing lighting professionally. Proven record of research or creative work in lighting and sound design. Excellent communication skills; the ability to manage and supervise; and demonstrated ability to complete projects within time and budget constraints.
