The Department of Theatre & Film at the University of Mississippi invites applications for an Instructional Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre to begin August 18, 2022. This full time temporary one-year position (with the possibility of renewal) requires an MA, MM, or MFA. The department is seeking a candidate possessing strong piano skills; an understanding of music theory; and experience conducting and vocal coaching to serve as a Collaborative Pianist in our curriculum. Additional responsibilities will include serving as Music Director within our mainstage season and mentoring students in the program both academically as well as with career preparation. The department currently enrolls 120 majors with 18 full time faculty and offers a BA in Theatre Arts and BFA in Theatre Arts emphases in Acting for Stage & Screen and Design & Theatre Production, as well as a BFA in Film Production.
