The College of Architecture and Design (CoAD) is a vital part of Lawrence Technological University; together we are focused on being an agile and entrepreneurial tech incubator that critically incorporates academia in the production of new industries, as well as industry leaders. Game Art is a core player in this journey and we are calling for exceptional humans to help shape this mission.
We are looking for outstanding and potentially unconventional candidates for a full-time faculty position in Game Art and Interactive Media. The appointee will join a passionate, collaborative group of teaching and applied research faculty within the College of Architecture and Design whom are committed to developing pedagogical innovations in design theory and practice. The rank and title will be commensurate with experience, and the appointment will commence in August 2020.
Candidates must hold a graduate degree in a design-related field and have relevant experience in game development and interactive media. Successful candidates will exhibit the ability to develop original work through a clear creative approach or research agenda. Candidates should show interest in cross-disciplinary opportunities within both Lawrence Technological University in general and the College of Architecture and Design specifically, which may include adjacent fields of Architecture, Nursing, Computer Science, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Transportation Design, and beyond. Additionally, candidates should identify experience and expertise within a variety of aspects of game development and interactive media which are relevant within a contemporary field. Candidates with diverse backgrounds and unconventional points of view are especially encouraged to apply.
Candidates should possess strong communication skills and a willingness to become actively involved in University and College service through self-governance, assessment, advising, and recruitment.
The College of Architecture and Design
The College of Architecture and Design (CoAD) offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in a range of design-related disciplines with emphasis on professional practice and technological innovation. With the Detroit Center for Design and Technology (DCDT), the College leverages its location through industry-sponsored projects, research collaborations, and community outreach. The College cultivates a broader multidisciplinary discussion within its university which presents design as having a central role.
