Provide scenic technical support to the School of Theatre Arts and Dance (STAD) along with the professional scene shop supervisor and a variety of student employees. Oversees the budgeting, manufacturing, installation, and personnel health and safety associated with all aspects of production for STAD, including the Little Theatre of the Rockies summer season. Additionally, teach theatre technology core classes.

• Technical Direction: Budgeting, scheduling, construction, and installation of all scenic elements for STAD productions.
• Safety oversight for all technical areas
• Supervision of student technical directors
• Classroom and mentored teaching within Design and Technology

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Competence in stage operations and stage maintenance, rigging, and machinery
• Familiarity with stage lighting and stage audio equipment
• Competence with computer animated drawing packages and other pertinent applications
• Troubleshooting skills as they relate to scenic carpentry and stage production
• Working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Outlook Calendar, Teams, Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre
• Master of Fine Arts in Technical Direction or Scene Design
• A minimum of two years’ experience in scenery construction, rigging systems, theatre project
  management, and budgeting in a collegiate or professional environment.
• Experience in using standard and specialized scenic carpentry tools.
• Experience welding scenic structures and scenic automation.
