The Department of Art and Art History invites applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Art History to begin August 2022 for a one-year nonrenewable appointment. Ability to teach art, architecture, material or visual culture surveys and courses within specific area(s) of competency and research. Preferred candidates will either have a specialization in Hemispheric or Indigenous Americas before AD 1800 or South Asia. Evidence of commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in research, service, and/or pedagogy. The position bears a 2/2 load with the expectation of at least one survey each semester; teaching record preferred. Additional responsibilities include independent study advising and departmental service. Ph.D. in Art History, Visual Culture, or equivalent.
