The successful candidate will teach two courses each semester one in intermediate or advanced Modern Dance technique and another in Choreography, Creative Movement for Children, Pilates or University Dance Theatre. Dance studies within the Department of Theatre and Dance meet current standards in dance education and are a solid foundation for the expected needs of the increasing numbers of dance students within the Central San Joaquin Valley area. Our dance program currently includes a BA in Dance, a Minor in Dance and General Education courses. An MFA in Dance, Choreography or closely related terminal degree from an accredited institution is required. Applicants nearing completion of the terminal degree may be considered. Required Experience: 1) Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching at the undergraduate college level or in an equivalent professional setting. 2) Demonstrated excellence in a somatically-informed pedagogy. 3) Commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
