The SMFA at Tufts University is seeking a Part-Time Lecturer in the Graphic Arts area for a two semester appointment for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025.

Qualifications

We are seeking someone to teach the post-internet and web design section of the Graphic Arts Toolbox: Design, Production & Alternative Strategies for Artists. This is an introductory course which includes making work for the internet using basics of Adobe Xd or alternative software. Applicants must demonstrate fluency in web design skills and knowledge to lecture about it and an active art and/or design practice. The successful applicant should be able to lead in-class discussions and assigned readings, engage with diverse students and create an inclusive class environment. Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level is required.

 

The course is taught on Wednesdays 2:30 pm - 8 pm. The instructor will also serve on the end-of-semester inter-disciplinary review boards and provide feedback to students working in various media.
