The Department of Communication, Graphic Design and Multimedia in the School of Business and Digital Media invites applications for a full-time faculty appointment with appropriate tenure-track.
The ideal candidate will be a practicing multimedia designer and educator who is as passionate about teaching and research. We seek someone with demonstrated expertise in contemporary critical discourse in design, interaction design and new media, and pedagogy for innovative design awareness. In addition to a successful teaching record at undergraduate and/or graduate levels, we seek candidates with an original research agenda or design practice that complements and contributes to the departmental mission to offer a wide range of approaches to multimedia design practices
This is a full-time, tenure track position.
Essential Functions:
Teach 12 credits per semester in foundation, intermediary and senior level courses.
Collaborate in developing curriculum and establishing new course offerings.
Advise and mentor students pursuing the B.F.A. in Graphic Design & Multimedia or B.A. in Digital Design
Participate in departmental functions and university-wide services
Pursue scholarly activities.
Provide service to the Department and the University
Collaborate in program development.
Work with student activities.
From time to time teach in the general education program
Expectation to perform some departmental administrative duties as deemed necessary by the Department Chair.
Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
