The Department of Theatre and Film Studies at the University of Georgia invites applications for a Stage Manager, at the rank of Academic Professional Associate or Academic Professional with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2023. The responsibilities of this position include: 

• Teaching Stage Management and other classes based on areas of interest and expertise. 

• Stage managing theatre season productions (minimum of one show per semester). 

• Training and supervising student stage managers. 

• Working with the facilities manager and technical director on production management duties such as calendar, meetings, communication, contracts, protocols, etc. 

• Chairing the Production Committee and serving on other departmental committees as required. 

• Participating in faculty meetings and design/production meetings 

 

Applicants should have an MFA or equivalent terminal degree in Theatre/Stage Management or a related field. Candidates without a terminal degree will be considered and must document exceptional accomplishments in their respective field and be approved for a terminal degree exception before hire. 

Competitive applicants will be members of Actors Equity Association with at least 3 years of experience working in professional settings.
