Boston University College of Fine Arts invites applications for a full-time appointment in our School of Theatre. The appointment begins July 1, 2018. The successful candidate will teach dramatic literature and dramaturgy in the School’s BFA program. Specifically, the Assistant Professor will teach:

Fall:
Introduction to Aesthetics and Dramatic Literature
Dramatic Literature 2: 1850-1950
Dramaturgical Methods & Investigations

Spring:
Dramatic Literature 3: 1950-1990
Contemporary Literature
New Play Development Lab

Additional duties include playing a leadership role in the development of dramatic literature curriculum, student advising, student recruitment, dramaturg mentoring for school productions, service to the University, and active engagement in ongoing creative and scholarly activity that promises a strong emerging national or international reputation.

Qualifications:
Applicants must be dynamic theatre artists with strong record of integrating dramatic literature and dramaturgy into professional theatre training at the undergraduate level. The ideal candidate will have an extensive resume of literary management and new play development, in regional theatre, touring, off-Broadway, and/or Broadway productions.The preferred candidate will also possess a willingness to work in a collaborative spirit among a team of faculty with varied approaches.Qualifications should include a terminal degree (MFA) or equivalent professional experience.
