Evidence of excellence in high school and college/university-level teaching
Responsibilities consist of overseeing the FIU Choral Studies Program (Concert Choir, University Singers, Gospel Choir, Women’s Chorus), teaching Choral Literature, Choral Conducting, and other undergraduate and graduate courses. Ensemble and course assignments will be determined based on the candidate’s strengths and expertise. The Assistant Professor of Choral Studies (Director of Choirs) actively engages in recruiting local, national, and international undergraduate and graduate students and is also expected to actively recruit for the Vocal Performance, Music Education (Choral Track), and graduate Choral Conducting programs.
The candidate will also maintain a national profile within the profession and engage in creative activity, and/or research. The FIU School of Music is committed to providing an academic community whose members represent and embrace diverse cultures, and toward this end, individuals from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply. The salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply to Job Opening ID 522682 at facultycareers.fiu.edu and attach the following documents as PDFs:

At a later date, candidates may also be asked to submit rehearsal/performance videos. Candidates are requested to provide names and contact information for at least three references, who may be contacted as determined by the search committee. To receive preferred consideration, completed applications and required materials should be received by February 15, 2021.
Review will continue until the position is filled. Please direct questions to the Choral Studies Search Committee Chair, Dr. Vindhya Khare, at email@example.com.
