The Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer in Theatre, with a specialization in Technical Direction. This position begins September 1, 2020.

Responsibilities include: mentoring students in technical theatre; teaching courses in technical theatre; technical direction; creating and working within scenic production budgets; collaboration with full-time ATD and student scene shop employees; maintenance of theatre facilities; advising.

M.F.A. in Technical Theatre or significant experience (minimum of four years) as a technical director or assistant technical director in both professional and academic theatre settings.  A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is required. Comprehensive knowledge of scenic materials and construction techniques, including welding and rigging; CAD and Vectorworks proficiency; experience in safe, effective supervision of student staff; excellent communication skills; collaborative approach.  Candidates must demonstrate a track record of mentorship in a university or professional setting.
