Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, tenure track Chair of Theatre and Performance Studies and Associate Professor or Professor of Theatre and Performance Studies faculty position in the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies, which begins July 2020.
Successful candidates must demonstrate a record of peer-reviewed publications and/or professionally produced theatrical work. In addition, successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the scholar-artist model that is integral to the department’s philosophical mission and illustrate experience with, or a passion towards, Bachelor of Arts programs and/or liberal arts education. Applicants should include a philosophy on teaching and leadership that emphasizes the value of a liberal arts approach to theatre and performance studies education. Successful candidates should have a record of ethical leadership, rooted in advocacy towards student learning, faculty/staff development, shared governance, and innovative program development. Candidates should also demonstrate a history of ethical and transparent fiscal and budgetary management, effective teaching, conflict management skills, experience with program accreditation, and a record of donor and board development.
Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. or M.F.A. in theatre and/or performance studies, or a foreign equivalent degree. Candidates must demonstrate excellence commensurate with tenure, and appointment to the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The rank of Full Professor will only be granted to candidates who demonstrate a strong record of both written scholarship and professional creative activity, as per the Kennesaw State University Department of Theatre and Performance Studies promotion and tenure guidelines.
