The Theater Department at Skidmore College invites applications for an assistant or associate professor of Costume Design. 

This position will design in our production season, teach costume design and construction at all levels, mentor students in design projects, and teach required and elective courses in the BS curriculum across areas (Intro to Theater, Intro to Design, Special Topics Courses, etc.). Candidates should be prepared to work closely with the costume shop manager and student crews and employees to realize productions.  The department is particularly interested in candidates who bring a secondary area of expertise or interest in production, management or technology. Competitive candidates will demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion and cultural competency in teaching, production, student mentoring, and the profession.  A candidate approved at the rank of Associate Professor must undergo tenure review at Skidmore.

Requirements:  terminal degree (e.g., MFA, PhD); experiences working with undergraduates; professional experience.

Pay Range:  $64,000+
