The Department of Theatre Arts is seeking applicants for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice position, starting August 15, 2018. The initial appointment will be for academic year 2018-19 with the possibility of renewal based on the department needs and available funding. We seek candidates with expertise as a scenic designer who hold an M.F.A in Scenic Design with a potential emphasis in Lighting Design and/or Sound Design by time of appointment. Significant professional resume and University teaching experience preferred. The position includes teaching assignments, scenic design, design and/or design mentorship for all departmental productions. Academic advising and committee service are expected with this appointment. This position also serves as the Scenic Charge/Scenic Artist for the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre, producing four plays and musicals each season.
