Job Description Summary
The Department of Art & Art History at Oakland University invites candidates to apply for a position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Art, specializing in Painting and Drawing. This teaching appointment begins August 15, 2021. It is a one-year appointment with possible renewals. Responsibilities include 1000 through 3000 level undergraduate drawing and painting courses, and service duties. While drawing and painting are often stand-alone practices, interdisciplinary approaches to materials, teaching, and research are highly desirable. Candidates with parallel practices in printmaking, digital media and other 2D disciplines are encouraged to apply. AAH is seeking applicants with a proven image-making practice and exhibition record. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a commitment to innovation, flexibility, and diversity.
MFA and teaching experience at the college level required.
