Carnegie Mellon University School of Music announces an opening for a tenure-track position as Music Education Coordinator and Division Chair. This is a full-time, 9-month position at Associate Professor (without tenure) level. This is a tenure-track position, with appointment scheduled to begin on September1, 2019.

This position requires an effective administrator who can work with multiple professional music educators tasked with teaching courses leading to the certification of students who are already skilled performers or composers. The School of Music does not offer a degree in Music Education, but rather offers K-12 teaching certification to students who have already satisfied the requirements of our rigorous majors in performance or composition.

To be the successful candidate, you demonstrate excellence in teaching, preferably with 5 or more years of experience in both elementary/secondary and the college/university level.
