Full-time, tenure track, nine-month position. Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate levels of graphic design in a BFA/MFA program. The curriculum requires knowledge in the areas of web, UX, UI, package, and information design. Faculty must teach critical thinking and problem solving, as well as contemporary theory and concepts in art and design.
As part of your normal workload you will be asked to recruit for the undergraduate and graduate program and may be asked to teach online courses. Participation in Inclusive Excellence by undertaking outreach to diverse communities (multicultural student organizations, Native American community, LGBTQIA+ community, Latino community, veterans, women, etc.) on and off campus is encouraged. Faculty members are expected to make contributions in teaching, creative scholarship/research, service, participate in student reviews and critiques, maintain and operate a safe studio environment, and serve as a mentor to students in and out of the classroom. Appointment will begin August 22, 2021.
Qualifications: MFA in graphic design or equivalent degree from an accredited institution is required. Knowledge of current practice and theory in graphic design and digital media is required. An established creative scholarship/research program is desirable. Professional client-based experience or comparable achievements in their area of expertise is preferred. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills are required. At least two-years of college level teaching experience is preferred.
