The University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, invites applications for a one-year, full-time Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor of Film and Broadcast Production beginning August 2020.
The successful candidate will teach between 17-19 credit hours over the Fall and Spring semesters in courses covering digital media production, field and studio production, video editing, and filmmaking at the undergraduate level.
This temporary appointment is for the 20-21 academic year and will not be continued, however, the School may be recruiting for the next academic year and accepting this position would not preclude someone from applying for that position.
A visiting appointee who does not hold a professorial rank elsewhere will be designated as a lecturer.
Masters degree in broadcasting, digital media, film, or a closely allied field.
Terminal degree in media, filmmaking or digital media production or a closely allied field, including M.F.A. or Ph.D. A terminal professional masters degree in a media-related field, defined as a masters degree in an applied media field that is the highest degree offered in that field, recognized by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC) and regional university accrediting agencies
Full-time experience teaching broadcasting, filmmaking, or digital media production courses at the college level
Three years of professional experience in filmmaking or digital media production
Experience serving diverse communities or groups traditionally under-represented in academia
Evidence of excellence in creative works in filmmaking or digital media production
Experience with outreach and professional connections to the field of broadcasting, film or digital media, including active participation in professional organizations or associations
