The School of Design within the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University seeks an enthusiastic multidisciplinary designer for a tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, bringing skills and expertise in the area of Industrial/Interaction design, but also able to teach courses relevant to other programs, especially our BS in Design Studies. Candidates must be scholars in the throes of building a national reputation for excellence in research, teaching, and service along with potential for securing external funding. As a member of our faculty, you will be expected teach graduate and undergraduate courses while advancing a research agenda in the fields of industrial, product, interaction, or user experience design. Candidates with a PhD are preferred, though those with a combination of education and significant professional experience are also encouraged to apply. The School desires candidates who value equity and inclusion, who incorporate marginalized voices and perspectives into their pedagogy, and who have experience mentoring students and of diverse identities.
