TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR SPECIALIZING IN TECHNICAL IMAGING AND DOCUMENTATION, COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
The Department of Art Conservation at the University of Delaware invites applications for a tenure- track position at the Assistant Professor level specializing in technical imaging and documentation, starting August 16, 2023. The Department of Art Conservation is committed to promoting excellence in conservation education and serving our multicultural world heritage collections and their diverse constituents. The faculty member’s primary roles will include (1) developing collaborative imaging and documentation research with and for cultural heritage conservation; (2) teaching two masters-level (Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation, WUDPAC program), and one undergraduate-level course per academic year; and (3) advising and mentoring students at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels; and (4) service within the department, University, community, and profession, as well as community engagement activities and initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We seek an exceptional candidate in technical imaging and documentation. Individuals with terminal degrees in STEM, conservation, and the arts, and with demonstrated experience working collaboratively with conservation professionals, are encouraged to apply. Desired skills and competencies may include experience in advanced microscopy, conservation photography, multiband/3D/computational imaging, machine learning, reflectance transformation imaging (RTI), X-radiography, etc. We welcome creative individuals who are eager to work in a collaborative research and educational environment.
