The UW-Stevens Point dance program seeks a highly motivated, dynamic dance artist and educator to join our nationally recognized program. The emphasis for this position is in Ballet and Jazz or Hip Hop. The position supports expanded dance styles that embrace non-western dance forms. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have performance, choreographic and educational experiences that support teaching a variety of theory courses from: Dance Composition, Dance History, Movement Analysis, and Teaching Theories. Scholarly research, creative activity, choreographing new work for dance majors/minors, and service to the department and university is required.
Required qualifications include: Master’s degree in Dance; Demonstrated expertise teaching Ballet and Jazz and/or Hip Hop at multiple levels; Professional performance/choreographic experience; Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment; Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.
Preferred qualifications include: University and/or professional experience teaching Hip Hop or non-western dance forms; Previous university teaching experience in Composition, Dance History, Movement Analysis, or Teaching Theories.
