The Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock seeks a nine- month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Scenery or Lighting Design. The candidate will join an accomplished and collegial team of theatre and dance faculty and staff staring August 2019. The department offers a BA in Theatre Arts and a BFA and BA in Dance. We are dedicated to an integration of dance and theatre within a cohesive unit in order to expose students to both forms and to provide an experience with the potential for a collaborative fusion. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Required Qualifications: Master of Fine Arts with a minimum of two (2) years teaching undergraduates at the university level. Candidates must have primary emphasis in scene design/secondary emphasis lighting design or primary emphasis lighting design/secondary emphasis scene design with the ability to design in both areas. An established record of professional design work. A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, collaboration, collegiality, diversity, and excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
