The Fountain School of Performing Arts is the only multi-disciplinary performing arts school in the region, offering collaborative learning opportunities in Music, Theatre, Costume Studies, and Film Studies programs. FSPA is expanding our facilities, with a 37000 square foot wing to our building currently under construction.

The successful candidate for this position will: teach Acting to students in the first through final years of an undergraduate program; direct one stage production or support a devised creation project each year; and contribute to long-range planning of curriculum and the production season. Capacity to teach in other areas of the FSPA will be considered an asset.

The qualifications required are MA, MFA, or equivalent degree plus substantial professional theatre experience, with a particular emphasis on acting, devised creation and directing. Evidence of effective teaching at a post-secondary level is required.

Applications will include a curriculum vitae, statements of research and teaching interests and philosophies, and evidence of teaching effectiveness (a teaching dossier consisting of formal course evaluations). To apply, please go to: http://dal.peopleadmin.ca/postings/2196

Please arrange to have three confidential letters of reference forwarded separately from the referees to Dr. Jacqueline Warwick, Director, Fountain School of Performing Arts, at fspajobs@dal.ca.

The deadline for applications is November 22, 2019.

  • All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority. Dalhousie University is committed to fostering a collegial culture grounded in diversity and inclusiveness.
