The School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University seeks applications for a part-time lecturer in photography for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. The position requires teaching Introduction to Digital Photography with the possibility of an additional intermediate photography course incorporating advanced studio lighting techniques.   

Requirements include: a proficiency teaching digital photography and printing techniques, practices, and critique, as well as a thorough knowledge of the discourses (theory and history) of photography in a fine arts context; a demonstrated commitment to teaching; the ability to teach students with a wide range of cross-disciplinary interests and to support their work both conceptually and technically; and good interpersonal skills, including clarity, generosity, and creativity.   

There is a possibility of serving on end-of-semester student review boards for additional compensation.

 

Qualifications

Candidates must have an MFA in Photography or Studio Art, college -level teaching experience (preferably at both the undergraduate and graduate levels) and proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, DSLR cameras, and Epson Printers.
