The Department of Music at Tufts University announces a part-time Lecturer replacement position to teach two courses: Music 0114-01 Analog and Digital Music Notation and Music 0115-01 Orchestration for the Spring 2026 semester. The classes meet on Tuesdays 1:30-4 (Orchestration) and 4:30-7 (Notation).

Qualifications

We seek candidates with proven excellence in teaching and creative work as composer, performer, and/or music director or conductor, with evidence of experience writing for and working with orchestras or large ensembles. The successful applicant will possess a Masters or DMA/PhD (preferred) in composition as well as experience teaching musical skills courses to non-majors, majors, and graduate students.
