Joint Institute at Zhejiang University City College, based in China
The University of Waikato has established a Joint Institute with Zhejiang University City College in Hangzhou, China.
The position is based in China and contributes to teaching courses in the area of Digital Media on the Bachelor of Media and Creative Technologies taught at the Joint Institute by our School of Arts.
To be successful in the role you will have demonstrated experience in both lecturing and facilitating creative workshops with large groups of students. The role requires knowledge of theory and practice in the areas of digital media production, animation and interactive media (digital games and VR). Knowledge of digital media in both Chinese and global contexts, experience of teaching across cultures and the ability to work with students for whom English is not their first language will be considered an advantage. A relevant Masters degree is essential and a PhD is preferred.
Salary will be in the range of CNY310,000 to CNY443,000 per year, dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.

It is envisaged the appointment will start at the end of 2019 / beginning 2020 to include training before teaching at the Joint Institute starts. Applicants must be eligible to receive a Foreign Expert Certificate (FEC) to meet the criteria for teaching staff at the Institute.
