The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock seeks a twelve-month Research Assistant in the Role of Lighting Director (R0002891) for a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will join an accomplished and collegial team of theatre faculty and staff dedicated to a student-centered model of production. As the department expands production capacity and in-person performance, we seek a candidate committed to collaboration and artistic innovation. In this position, the successful candidate is responsible for implementing the lighting designs for departmental productions, for mentoring students within the area of lighting technology, and for maintaining the departmental lighting inventory. This individual also mentors students involved in the course and laboratory-related curricular initiatives.
Minimum Education and/ or Experience: Candidates with five (5) or more years of professional theatre experience as a master electrician may qualify for consideration, as may candidates with a BA/BFA in Theatre with a lighting design emphasis and at least three (3) years of professional experience.
