University of Tennessee at Martin. Assistant Professor of Theatre Design and Technical Direction. Tenure-track. Starting August 1, 2020.
M.F.A in Technical Theatre with a Scene Design or Technical Direction emphasis required. We seek a faculty member with broad teaching, design, and technical experience to collaborate on 2-3 play productions during the school year while also teaching a half-time load in support of the BFA: Fine and Performing Arts /Theatre Emphasis Degree. The position is responsible for designing sets and overseeing their construction, along with maintenance, shared management, and development of our theatre facilities and events. Two years of college teaching experience is preferred. Position responsibilities also include participation in the development of curriculum and advising students in academic and career planning. Departmental service is also expected. Must be capable of teaching a variety of theatre technology courses and have the willingness and ability to teach theatre appreciation lecture courses. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
